Donor Recognition Policy

The Library Foundation's policy is to recognize major contributions in a manner most directly related to the nature of the contribution. Recognition levels reflect cumulative giving totals, excluding the fair market value of events.

•

Donors of $25,000 or more will be recognized on the Central Library Donor Wall for contributions to "name" collections or for capital improvements.

•

Pledges of $5,000 or more may be paid over 5 years and will be recognized upon receipt of the signed pledge and first payment.

Affiliates ($1,000 to $4,999) will be listed in the Annual Report and the appropriate issue of the Foundation Newsletter, and will receive invitations to special events.

Bronze Affiliates ($5,000 to $9,999) will be listed in the Annual Report and Newsletter, be invited to special events, and have their name inscribed on a bronze catalog drawer plaque in the Lodwrick M. Cook Rotunda of the Central Library.

Platinum Affiliates ($10,000 or more) will be listed in the Annual Report and Newsletter, be invited to special events, have their name inscribed on a bronze card catalog drawer in the Lodwrick M. Cook Rotunda, and have the opportunity to hold one event in an approved Central Library space.

Note: Donors who contribute a restricted $10,000 gift (payable over 5 years) to the Gregory Peck Literary Endowment Campaign, will be recognized by having their name incised on one of the floor tiles in the Lobby of the Mark Taper Auditorium.

Guardians ($25,000 or more) will be listed in the Annual Report and Newsletter, invited to special events, listed as a Guardian on the slate panels located at the entrance to the Central Library's Atrium, and will have the opportunity to hold two events.

Note: Donors who "adopt" a branch library for one year will be recognized on a plaque in that library, to be provided by the Foundation.

Distinguished Guardians ($50,000 or more) will be listed in the Annual Report and Newsletter, invited to special events, listed as a Distinguished Guardian on the Central Library Donor Wall, and may hold three events.

Benefactors ($100,000 to $499,000) will be listed in the Annual Report and Newsletter, invited to special events, listed as a Benefactor on the Central Library Donor Wall, and may hold four events.
